Meet the Team

Rachel Montague

FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, ACHPN

I am a Psychiatric and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner who has worked in the medical field for nearly 20 yrs and spent the last 8 exclusively caring for individuals experiencing cancer, striving to help them have the best possible quality of life while navigating treatment or living with a life-limiting illness. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and board certifications as a Family Practice (FNP-C) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), as well as specialized training as a Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN), and have a wealth of expertise and experience to compassionately support individuals facing the multifaceted challenges of cancer.

My specialties include distress related to:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Sleep troubles

  • Fatigue

  • Loss

  • Life transitions and role changes

  • Stress and burnout

  • Coping with chronic illness

I work closely with individuals struggling with cancer-specific challenges such as fear of recurrence, “scanxiety”, and existential distress and am practiced in the power of psychedelic modalities to heal in ways traditional therapies cannot, offering innovative and effective relief for those struggling with treatment resistant conditions.

I strive to help people live their best possible lives and maximize their holistic wellness considering both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. My psychotherapeutic approach includes principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Meaning Centered Psychotherapy (MCP), and Dignity Therapy based on individual needs.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy tracking down live music and exploring the outdoor playground of Utah and beyond - biking, hiking, and traveling around in my van with my husband, daughter, and dog.

Pancho

Pancho is a six-year-old black lab mix and certified therapy dog trained to provide comfort and affection to people in need. His presence can provide a sense of calm and comfort, offering unconditional affection and grounding while processing difficult emotions.

Almost as much as he loves his tennis ball, Pancho is always thrilled to have human contact, welcoming everyone he comes across with an excitable wag.
